Small Crow Smudge Fan

This small smudge fan is made from a Crow tail, is set in cow hide handle and finished with a line of rabbit fur. This was a young crow who had only recently taken flight, which we found lying on the roadside close to our home on the Summer Solstice. The rabbit fur is from wild english rabbits which are managed as part of a wildlife conservation programme.

Crow is a messenger from the Otherworld, and associated with the mysteries and magic of this World. Crow energy will provide you with insights into that which would be otherwise unseeable and so support you in your transformation. They are fearless, and boldly stride through life, and are highly intelligent animals. They able to problem solve their way through many sequences of complex steps in order to achieve their goal, and they also have an incredible memory. Not only able to recognise a human face, but pass this information onto future generations so that their offspring can also hold that person to account for many years to come.

About the making of our smudge fans:

We only ever source our feathers and wings ethically, from birds which have died in their natural environment, and never from birds which have been shot. 

Our feathers and wings come from birds which have been killed by cars and are lying on the side of the road as we drive past, or from loose feathers and parts of wings we find when we are out and about walking the moors, woodlands or coastline. 

The leather we use is from Red Deer in Scotland, or cow hide, and the Rabbit fur is from rabbits which are culled as part of a wildlife management project in England.
