Commissioned ‘Calming’ Shamanic Drum: Red Deer & Amethyst

You can commission a Red Deer drum to be made especially for you. This drum has a purple ring and an Amethyst crystal set in the handle, which brings with it the energy of calming. Your drum will come with a beater.

Please be aware that every drum is unique and the patterning and colouring of both the red deer hide and the crystal will differ slightly from the photographs.

The Amethyst crystal promotes calm, balance and peace, helping to still thoughts and clear away any negativity which has arisen through stress and anxiety. With a calm mind it is easier for us to connect in with our Spirit Guides, and strengthen our intuition. Amethyst can help you with problem solving, and if you are someone who finds their emotions run high in difficult situations, it can help you understand the situation and hep you make decisions as painlessly as possible.

The energy of Red Deer

When we encounter the Red Deer in the wild, our breath catches and we are transfixed by their graceful features and delicate movements. We can draw on their energy to give us the power to deal with challenges with grace. As Red Deer holds a real gentleness, we can be sensitive and intuitive was we walk our path. We can also hold onto vigilance and also adaptability, with the ability to change direction quickly should we need to. Just as the deer has an uncanny sense of where to find the green freshness earth provides, we can ask the deer within ourselves to seek out our inner treasures.

Timescales from the point of your order

Please allow between 2-3 weeks for us to make your drum for you. Sometimes we are able to dispatch sooner and so if you have a particular date in mind to receive your drum please let us know.

Guidance for choosing your drum:

The 14″ drums are the most portable and tend to have a higher pitch than the larger ones. Our 16″ is often seen as a great compromise between transportability and depth of voice. The larger 18″ drum is a little heavier but usually has a deeper voice. However each drum is very much an individual and can vary from what is expected.

Trial period

This drum comes with a 7-day trial period, so if you aren’t quite perfect for eachother you can return your drum and receive a full refund.

Postage & Packaging

This item comes with free postage and packaging to the UK. If you are buying from overseas, the postage cost will be applied at the checkout page.

Customs fees

This is a special note for European drum buyers. As the UK is no longer part of the EU, Value Added Tax (VAT) is added to the cost of this product. This charge is in addition to what you pay here in our shop. You will be asked to pay this via the courier once we have dispatched your parcel. The amount will vary from country to country, so please check before purchasing so you understand what the additional customs charge will be. You can check what percentage VAT is charged by your country via this link or this link. It will be a minimum of 15%, and in some countries, it is 25%.

About the making of this drum

We make our drums from our home on the edge of the West Pennine Moors in the northwest of England. We create the drums in sacred space each drum is birthed through ceremony, over mugwort incense.

We also take great care in the sourcing of our materials. The Red Deer hide used to make this drum is from Scotland. The timber for the Ash hoop is sourced from UK ash and is crafted by a local carpenter in Wigan. The wood has a layer of bees wax to bring out it’ natural grain. The wax is from bees which have been rescued.
