  • 18″ ‘Samhain’ Shamanic Drum. Reindeer with Galaxite crystal handle.

18″ ‘Samhain’ Shamanic Drum. Reindeer with Galaxite crystal handle.

£370.00

This is an 18-inch shamanic drum made from Reindeer rawhide and is a special drum as it was birthed at the time of the Celtic fire festival of Samhain.

Samhain is one of the eight Celtic festivals we celebrate as we work our way around the wheel of the year. It lands between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice and marks the transition from summer to winter. It is a time of heightened connection when the veil between the worlds is thin. We have placed a Galaxite crystal in the handle and painted a crow motif on the inside of the wooden hoop. The hoop is English Ash waxed with beeswax from rescued bees, and the tension ring is wrapped in suede with fluffy fabric finishing off the handle so that it is really comfortable to hold.

Galaxite is a type of moonstone that has the most beautiful blue, cyan and white shimmer. As you gaze into it you have a sense of staring up into the night sky and glimpsing the Milky Way adorning our night sky. It complements the energy of Hare beautifully. This stone will guide you in every step of the way in your transformation. It will help soothe your fears and worries away and remove anything in your life that is preventing you from trying something new or making a change. Galaxite brings out the best in people, and its energies will infuse you with creativity, motivation and productivity. It will encourage you to be fully involved in the tasks you set yourself so that you will achieve your desired results. It will also inspire you, and when you work with this stone you will benefit from its lucky and prosperous energies.

Guidance for choosing your drum

The 14″ drums are the most portable and tend to have a higher pitch than the larger ones. Our 16″ is often seen as a great compromise between transportability and depth of voice. The larger 18″ drum is a little heavier but usually has a deeper voice. However, each drum is very much an individual and can vary from what is expected.

Our guidance video

We have a video with guidance to help you choose your drum. Here is the link. (Scroll down the page to see the guidance video.)

All of our drums come with a 7-day money-back guarantee, to allow you time to hold your drum in your hands and hear it’s voice, ensuring that you are right for each other.

Your drum beater

Your suede drum beater is included within the price of the drum.

About the making of this drum

We make our drums from our home in the Silverdale and Arnside Area of Natural Beauty on the Lancashire coast, northwest England. We create the drums in sacred space and awakening them in ceremony over incense.

We also take great care in the sourcing of our materials. The Red Deer hides used to make our drums come from Scotland and the Reindeer hides come from Finland. The timber for the Ash hoop is sourced from UK ash and is crafted by a local carpenter in Wigan. The wood has a layer of beeswax to bring out its natural grain. The wax is from bees which have been rescued.
