16″ ‘Buck Full Moon’ Shamanic Drum. Reindeer Deer with Amethyst crystal handle.

This is a 16-inch shamanic drum made from Reindeer Deer rawhide and is a really special drum as it was birthed at the time of the ‘Buck’ Full Moon. This is the name given in the UK for the July full moon. We worked with the energy of Reindeer whilst birthing this drum and have painted a motif on the inside of the wooden hoop.

Reindeer has the energy of perseverance and surefootedness and show us that great things are possible in our lives. They are calm and gentle and in keeping with this energy, we have set an amethyst crystal in the centre of the handle. The hoop is English Ash waxed with beeswax from rescued bees, and the tension ring is wrapped in suede with fluffy fabric finishing off the handle so that it is really comfortable to hold.

About the making of this drum

We make our drums from our home on the edge of the West Pennine Moors in the northwest of England. We create the drums in sacred space each drum is birthed through ceremony, over mugwort incense.

We also take great care in the sourcing of our materials. The Red Deer hide used to make this drum is from Scotland and the timber for the Ash hoop is sourced from UK ash and is crafted by a local carpenter in Wigan. The wood has a layer of beeswax to bring out its natural grain. The wax is from bees which have been rescued.
